Neville talks to Thames Gateway PAC

Former record holder Neville Fickling will be taking to the floor for a talk and slide show at Thames Gateway's first gathering of 2008, on Tuesday, January 8.

It will be at their usual watering hole, the Papermaker's Arms in Dartford (7.30pm).

Neville has amassed an almost unequalled tally of big pike from all four corners of the British Isles and it's sure to be an interesting evening.

Admission is £2.50 members, £3 non-members, all welcome.

Ken Crow entertains Thames Gateway

Former Pike Angler of the Year and manager of Kent's prolific Bough Beech Reservoir Ken Crow will be speaking at Thames Gateway Region's meeting on Tuesday, November 6.

It starts around 7.15pm at the Papermaker's Arms, Dartford, and will include the usual buffet and raffle. Copies of PAC30 will also be on sale.

Friendly Fisherman heads to Gateway

Thames Gateway Region are getting their winter programme of meetings under way with a visit from Andy Lush, the globe-trotting boss of the Friendly Fisherman tackle shop.

He'll be at the Papermaker's Arms, in Dartford, on Tuesday, September 4 (7.30pm).

Andy will be covering some of his lure fishing experiences, including pike in UK waters, Dutch zander and predatory barbel in Spain.

Thames Gateway unveils winter programme

RO Steve Gould has unveiled the Thames Gateway Region's winter programme of speakers.

"We kick off next month (4th Sept) with Andy Lush, all round predator and lure angler, and proprietor of the Friendly Fisherman tackle shop.

"Andy will be talking about all his lure fishing exploits from pike and zander to predatory barbel in Spain.

"Other big names aquired for your entertainment are Steve Rodwell the Fenland Maestro, Ken Crow, accomplished pike angler and fishery manager of the famous Bough Beech reservoir.

"We've also got James "the Doc" Gardner, the Trout Reservoir Trollmeister, Neville Fickling,
Jason Davies, whose incredible catches are set to be unveiled at the PAC Convention, and
local superstars Marc Barnett and Phil Cheriton, who'll be giving an insight into their very successful years of fishing in the Emerald Isle."

All of the Thames Gateway meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month (except Jan 2008 coz thats New Years Day, so it will be the 2nd tuesday) at the Papermakers Arms in Dartford, Kent

John Synnuck will be giving a talk on some of his foreign fishing adventures, including battles with some huge tarpon and catfish, at Thames Gateway region's next meeting. It's at the Papermakers Arms, Dartford, on Tuesday, July 3 (7.30pm).

Thames Gateway meets on Tuesday

Our Thames Gateway Region will be holding an informal social meeting at the Papermaker's Arms, Dartford, on Tuesday night (June 5...).

RO Steve Gould said: "As well as the standard beer, food and chatting, I thought a bring and buy sale might be a good idea, so if you've got any tackle that is surplus to requirements, bring it along and someone may take it of your hands."

The meeting starts at 8pm.

ET at Thames Gateway on Tuesday night

Eddie Turner will be speaking at the Thames Gateway Region's final meeting of the season on Tuesday night (April 3...).

It's hard to think of a more innovative angler, or one who's done more to influence modern pike fishing and fish handling.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm at the Papermakers Arms in Hawley Road, Dartford, Kent.
